2 Weeks Old!!

Molly is 2 weeks old today and I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was still in the hospital. Her birth weight was 6 lbs 3 oz and today she was at 6 lbs 7 oz! I can't believe how much she has grown already. I'm enjoying these days while she's still so little, and yet a part of me also yearns for when she's a little bigger and older so that nursing, and other things will become easier. Things are kind of in a rhythm now. She's starting to be very alert about a third of time. She loves to crane her neck back and look all over the place. Also, her cord finally fell off this morning, and it kind of startled me because I discovered it when I lifted up her shirt to change her diaper. I think her belly button looks like mine :) She's also such an easy baby to shop with. The car and stroller put her right to sleep, so it's so easy to cart her around everywhere, which makes it nice so that I don't have to be cooped up all day. The lactation consultant was really helpful today. Ft. Drum has 2, and today the other one came in to try and help her get on without having to use the shield, and it worked! The shield made feeding her a much less stressful experience, but I yearned for the direct physical contact, but was just happy she was eating well. But now that the other lady showed a different way of doing things, I think we can get on our way to not have to use it! I see her again on Thursday to follow up and still make sure everything is going OK. So I'm hoping over the next couple days Molly and I will be able to master it and be able to show off on Thursday! Well, it's time to get her ready to eat again, I'll try and get on later to put up a picture of my beautiful girl!

  1. I'm so happy to hear that the nursing is improving. Good for you!!!! You give yourself a big pat on the back for withstanding the frustrations of the first couple of days of breastfeeding.
